Palace started the game off well and had the first opportunity, but it was no threat for Sam Johnstone in goal.

The opening ten minutes of the match were equal, both sides had good spells on the ball but just lacked the final finishing touch. Wolves should’ve took the lead with an effort from striker Strand Larsen which just went wide of the post.

VAR was present as always in the Premier League clash, Palace appealed for a penalty which got checked, but it was outside the area. The freekick was cleared by the Wolves defence.

Throughout the first half, Wolves’ best opportunties came from João Gomes who was strong in midfield and kept intercepting the ball and tried to drive forward.

The visitors kept pushing forward in which they saw Johnstone off his line but the strike went wide of the goal.

Wolves also tried to break the deadlock, but could not get past the Palace defenders. The old gold number 7, André had an effort towards goal, but it was cleared away.

The hosts kept misplacing the ball throughout the game which gave Palace more attacking opportunties.

The first half ended level. There were no goals from either side, but they both looked threatening on the counter attack.

Half time: 0-0

After the interval, the second half began quickly and Palace looked to take the lead early on, but Johnstone comfortably got to the ball and caught it.

As the second half progressed Wolves looked like settling into the game, Wolves strikers Strand Larsen and Tolu Arokodare linked up well and earnt a corner for Rob Edward’s side. The corner was taken and Marshall Munetsi’s strike went over the bar.

In the 63rd minute Palace broke the deadlock, Daniel Muñoz precisely placed the ball in the right side of the goal. This was a crucial moment in the match and a tense atmosphere rose at Molineux.

After going 1-0 down Wolves looked tired and moments after the first goal the visitors extended their lead. Yeremy Pino’s right footed shot flew into the top right corner of the net from the edge of the box.
