Wolves’ worst start in the Premier League has fans frustrated and demanding change.
In the first 10 opening matches of the Premier League, Wolverhampton Wanderers are winless. This has led to the manager Vítor Pereira being sacked and supporters feeling frustrated and wanting change at the club.
Throughout the start of the 2025/26 season Wolves have only picked up two points as they drew with Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton Hove & Albion. They sit rock bottom of the table after 10 games.
They had some momentum in the EFL Cup competition where they defeated league opponents West Ham and Everton. In the latest round they faced a tough Chelsea side in which Wolves lost 3-2, so now their main focus is on the league.
They faced Fulham away last weekend and did not perform well: the travelling fans were full of emotions as their team were on the end of another loss. This led to manager Vítor Pereira being sacked the following day.
I spoke to Wolves fans about how they’re feeling with the situation at the club.
“It feels like I want to give up my season ticket. Even though we went down to the championship last time then down to league one I followed them all through that but this seems to be different there’s no love in the game anymore.”

It’s clear the fans are frustrated with how the team is playing on the pitch and that they’re not picking up cruicial points to stay in the league.
Another local fan of the club, Jamie, says that he isn’t falling out of love with the team but is “losing faith.” Fans are still supporting the players by attending home matches and they travel in their numbers to away games despite the results. Jamie has not missed a game so far, adding, “You know it’s bad when you hear the fans are singing about former players, we are that poor.”
Paul an older supporter spoke to me about how he thinks that there is a poor team selection and how they’re missing key players that they sold in the summer.
“The manager is way out of his depth, he’s got no team selection and doesn’t know his best starting line up. When we lost to Burnley it was a signal of relegation.”

Wolves have faced all three of the newly promoted teams: Leeds, Burnley and Sunderland. They have lost to all three which has concerned fans and gives them a tougher challenge in the relegation battle.
Throughout the games for Wolves, their fans have sang loud and proud. But most of the songs they have been singing are reminensing on the good times with former manager Nuno and players such as Rúben Neves, Ivan Cavaleiro, Raúl Jiménez and Diogo Jota. Other songs are expressing how they feel about the owners of the club – Fosun.
Wolves are in search for a new manager and as they face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on the weekend, the under 21 head coach James Collins will take the role and be in the dugout against Chelsea. But will a different manager resolve the issues at Wolves, most supporters don’t think so.
“The owners are awful. The prices of tickets are high, they don’t seem to invest in the club and it makes you not want to come.”

Fans want to see change at the club, the festive period will be a tough challenge for the team with many fixtures against tough sides that are in form. Can they stay in the Premier League or are they accepting that they will be in the Championship next season?
