Wolves produced a spirited performance in their final home match of the Premier League season, holding Fulham to a draw as supporters delivered a defiant atmosphere despite relegation already being confirmed.
Wolverhampton Wanderers signed off their final Premier League home game of the season with a spirited 1-1 draw against Fulham in an entertaining contest at Molineux.
Although relegation has already been confirmed for the home side for weeks, Wolves produced a performance full of energy and attacking intent, frustrating a Fulham side still fighting to keep their European ambitions alive.
The atmosphere around Molineux carried emotion from the opening whistle. Supporters remained vocal throughout, determined to stand behind their side despite a difficult campaign that will end with a return to the Championship next season after eight years.
Rod Edwards side looked dangerous whenever they moved forward, pressing Fulham aggressively and taking advantage by attacking quickly through the wide areas. Rodrigo Gomes and Hwang Hee-Chan caused early problems, while Fulham stuggled to settle into possession during the opening stages.
The breakthrough arrived midway through the first half by Mateus Mane. The right winger, Rodrigo Gomes, crosses the ball going straight past Adam Armstrong to Hwang Hee-Chan, who then plays the ball to the youngster on the outside of the box as he strikes it off his right foot straight past the keeper hitting the back of the net.
The goal reflected Wolves’ strong start to the game and gave the home side confidence as they continued to threaten on the counterattack.
Fulham gradually began to control more possession but struggled to create clear opportunities against a disciplined Wolves defence as they challenge them. Marco Silva’s side moved the ball patiently through the midfield, yet their final ball often lacked quality.
However, their equaliser eventually arrived in the first-half stoppage time after a VAR review rewarded the visitors a penalty following a challenge made by Wolves goal scorer Mateus Mane. Antonee Robinson remained composed from the spot, sending José Sá the wrong way as he sinks the ball into the bottom left corner to level the score before the break.
The second half opened with Fulham holding a majority of the possession, but Wolves continued to look dangerous going forward. The hosts attacked with greater direction and nearly restored their lead when Adam Armstrong’s low effort struck the post after a quick break forward.
Fulham attempted to increase pressure through attacking substitutions late in the match, introducing fresh legs in search of a winner as they dominated the last few minutes of the game, but Wolves defended with intensity and organisation through the closing stages.
As the final whistle sounded, Molineux rose to applaud the players after an encouraging final home performance in the Premier League. While the result does little to change their fate this season, the display offered supporters something positive to take into the summer. For Fulham, the dropped points leave their hopes of European qualification increasingly uncertain.

I think we had enough chances to win the game. We need to be a bit more ruthless and a bit more decisive in the final moments, then we could have got the three points.
