With nine games down of this season and no wins since April stretching back to last season the question is are Fosun dragging Wolves down?

The team continue to falter in the Premier League this season, and it has now become more of a when than an if with supporters when it comes to relegation.

Fans of the club have seen Wolves in the second tier before, once known as the First Division now the Championship, so it was a joyous occasion when Wolves won promotion back to the Premier League. The 2017-18 season under Nuno Espirito Santo and new ownership of Fosun propelled Wolves not only back to the Premier League but back-to-back seventh place finishes in the following seasons.

So where has it all gone wrong? Was it the horror fractured skull suffered by Raul Jimenez; I don’t think that can be solely blamed. Our performances did slide after, but this was maybe the time for a refresh. Fosun unfortunately have under-funded the club since the Covid disrupted campaign of 2020-2021.

The owners have consistently changed managers with only Nuno surviving more than a couple of seasons but it is not solely on them. Yes, they put the team out and must motivate them, but every team needs to strengthen and now since Nuno was sacked a further three managers have come and gone.

Wolves have been weakened season upon season, one major example being the mass sale of first teamers in the summer of 2023 with the highest profile players being the previously un-droppable Raul Jimenez and star midfielder Ruben Neves.

This led to the departure of Julen Lopetegui days before the 2023-2024 season and the installation of Gary O’Neil who was given just a few million to spend despite the mass influx of finances into the club.

Fast-Forward to 2025 and after big sales again in the summer of 2024, the sacking of another manager and no real investment except three new players arriving for fees in January the writing was seemingly on the wall but a miraculous run by the club under Vitor Pereira led to survival being secured.

Wolves have started so badly this time around that some fans are certain that this is the time that the trap door will finally open and Wolves will lose their status as a Premier League club.

Wolves are a team that belong in the Premier League competing in the top half and getting into Europe. Are Fosun happy just being the fourth worst team in the league and profiting from the club?

How can one team make over 250 million in player sales over two seasons, admit they are not in danger of breaching PSR (Profit & Sustainability) rules but never re-invest.

The sell to buy model is harming Wolves and Fosun need to listen to fans who have flooded X (formerly Twitter) with the hashtag Fosun Out and sell the club and allow the club to thrive again but with an offer being received and Fosun saying they don’t want to sell how long can Wolves survive as a top level club with these owners.
